Lights At The LA Zoo

Lights At The LA Zoo

Oct 30, 2017 Dr Kristina Nelson

This year, you won’t want to miss celebrating part of your holiday season by attending the LA Zoo Lights, which are sure to be both beautiful and awe-inspiring. This year, from November 17th to January 7th, you’ll get to see wonderful holiday decorations and eye-catching light demonstrations throughout the LA Zoo.

A Christmas Light Experience

Although most of the animals in the park will be asleep during the event, you’ll still get to see reindeer in the park and grab a photo with them and Santa, on select dates. Plus, there’s a story behind the lights this year that’s sure to make both adults and children smile. A team of LED-loving monkeys has taken over both a Christmas tree and the power supply in the zoo. They’re little rebellion and power cord usage is supposed to be the theme story for the reason behind the event.

Some of the displays you’ll see at the LA Zoo Lights include statues of elephants that are both lit up and animated, a tunnel filled with lights, and a display called “ZOOray for Hollywood” that demonstrates some of Los Angeles’s best landmarks.

Ticket Prices

Ticket prices can vary for adults and children. Tickets for adults cost between $10 to $19.95 depending on the night you attend the event. Tickets for children ages 2-12 cost between $10 to $14.95 again depending on the night you will be visiting. Children under 2 are free.

If you become a member of the LA Zoo, you’ll be able to attend all nights for just $10 per adult. Also, if you purchase your tickets online ahead of time, your tickets will cost $10 per adult.

For more information on the LA Zoo Lights event, and to find out how to become a member or purchase tickets, please visit their website here.
